We travelled to Seattle last weekend to spend time with old friends from Alabama, Beratta Gomillion and Melody Platt. Beratta and Melody moved to the Seattle area about 16 years ago, where they have flourished. We had a wonderful time getting caught up, and they gave us a great tour of the city.
Here are some of the pictures I took while there:
Under the bridge in the Fremont neighborhood is a giant Troll, circa 1932. It ‘s holding a VW Beetle in its claw:
We went down to City Center, where the Space Needle is;
Don and Callie at Fountain:
City Center is home to several museums; here’s one called the EMP:
Inside one of the venues was an exhibition of Tibetan Buddhism, where we got to see monks create a fantastic sand mandala:
Here’s one of Callie and me:
We went to Pike Place Market;
And capped the day off with a sunset cruise through the harbor.
